wasteof.money is a social media website created by Swiss software developer Jeffalo[1]. It was initially created in 2020[2], and has gone through 4 major iterations[3]. Users can create posts, create reposts (colloquially known as "recycling")[citation needed], and comment on posts. Users may also like posts, and follow accounts. There is also a live chat feature, that uses the built-in socket.io server[citation needed], which also powers the notifications system (called "messages" in-app)[citation needed].
Third party development[edit | edit source]
A mobile app for the Android operating system was written by Micah Lindley.[4] A mobile app for iOS is being developed by Oren Lindsey[5], however, this client is not yet available to download. Jeffalo encourages development, and keeps the API easily accessible for developers to use. Documentation for the API has been written by wulliy.[6]
